Vintage Baseball Letters with team Logo Letterheads

1949 Major League Baseball Commisioner's Office Letterhead with 2 Corresponding Letters. Includes letter from the Commisioners office (Happy Chandler) to National Association President George Trautman. The letter regarding Mexican League players and is signed by Major League Baseball's Secretary-Treasurer Walter Mulbry. I think it's outstanding and a sign of times long ago when he starts the letter "My Dear George" to the second most powerful man in baseball. The other 2 letters that are included are both typewritten copies of letters to Happy Chandler regarding the issues with Mexican League players. Nice condition. Ex+ $50

1950 Chicago Cubs Minor League Letter. To George Trautman (National Association President) from Springfield Cubs President John T. Sheehan (1920 World Series) regarding player Dwight Stoddard. Nice colorful letterhead. Very nice condition. Ex/Mt $35

1951 Memphis Blues Letter. Letter to Phillip Piton Assistant to George Trautman (National Association President) from Memphis Blues team owner Frank Longinotti regarding player Robert Swanson. Nice letterhead. with an extremely rare Frank Longinotti signature. Very nice condition. Ex/Mt $40

1952 Cleveland Indians Letter. To George Trautman (National Association President) from Cleveland Farm Director M.J. McNally. Nice colorful letterhead. Has a small stain. Ex $30

1952 St. Paul Saints Letter with Envelope. To 1930's-40's Philadelphia A's player Al Brancato. This letter informed Brancato that St. Paul was recalling him from Fort Worth in what would be his 6th season with St. Paul. This letter is on the beautiful St. Paul Saints letterhead with envelope. 1954 Cincinnati Reds Letter. To George Trautman (National Association President) from Cincinnati Reds Minor League supervisor Bill McKechnie Jr. regarding player Richard Meder. Nice colorful letterhead. Great 2 page letter signed "Bill" by McKechnie. Very nice condition. Ex/Mt $35

1956 New York Giants Letter. To George Trautman (National Association President) from Giants Minor League secretary regarding reserved player lists for Springfield Massachusetts, Danville Virginia and Hastings Nebraska minor league teams. Nice colorful letterhead. Great 2 page letter signed "Bill" by McKechnie. Very nice condition. Ex/Mt $30

1960's San Francisco Giants Letterhead Stationary and Envelope. Both the letterhead and envelope are in very nice condition. Great Giants graphics on both items. Ex/Mt $25

1960's Cleveland Indians Stationary/Letterhead. Has a very nice and colorful letterhead on nice cotton bond typing paper. Has zip code but no area code, so probably early 1960's. The paper is "Esleeck Fidelity Onion Skin 100% Cotton" for whatever that's worth. Very nice condition. Nice for autographs or display. Nr/Mt $10

1960 New York Yankees Letter. Superb letterhead using raised ink. To National Association President George Trautman from Robert Dochterman regarding working agreement payments to minor league clubs St. Petersburg, Greensboro, Fargo and Modesto. Ex/Mt $35

1962 Minnesota Twins Envelope. Has a nicely detailed logo. An unusual item for a Twins collector. Ex+ $10

1962 Cleveland Indians Letter. This is a contract receipt that accompanied a $2000 bonus to Don Johnson (played with Yankees, Senators, Browns, White Sox, Orioles and Giants). Nice letterhead. Ex/Mt $25

1966 Cincinnati Reds Letter. To Daniel O'Brien, National Association from long time baseball executive Spencer "Herk" Robinson. Nice letterhead, nicely signed. Ex/Mt $25

1969 Chicago White Sox Minor League Letter. To Phillip Piton (President of National Association) from White Sox exec. Carl Davis discussing the minor league contracts of Jack Hamilton, Stu Singleton, Jim Magnuson, Roland Sheldon, Mike Vandehey, Jerry Crider, Jose Ortiz, Bruce Howard and Mike Abarbanel. Great letterhead. Great condition. Ex/Mt $35

1969 National Association Letter. The National Association is the governing body of all minor league baseball in North America. All contracts must be approved by the National Association. The National Association was formed in 1902 and developed the minor league class system (originally A-D and now AAA, AA, A and Rookie). This letter informs the White Sox that they must tender contracts by January 15th to the following 5 players: Dan Osinski, Jose Ortiz, Jerry Crider, Stu Singleton and Jim Manguson. Excellent condition. Ex/Mt $25

1970 New York Mets Letter, To Phillip Piton (President of National Association) from Mets exec. Harvey Kamnitzer. Great letterhead. Mets are reigning World Champions! Ex/Mt $30

1970 Hawaii Islanders Letterhead. Superb letter from legendary baseball executive John Quinn Jr. to National Association President Philip Piton informing him about status of baseball players Elroy Face and Ron Kline who were both stars with Pittsburgh during the 1950's and 60's and who both pitched their final year of pro ball with Hawaii in 1970. Superb condition. Ex/Mt+ $35

1970 Hawaii Islanders Letterhead. Superb letter from legendary baseball executive John Quinn Jr. to National Association President Philip Piton with interesting content challenging the disapproval of Juan Pizzaro's contract using the contractual precedents of Merrit Ranew, Jim Hicks, Bob Allen and Ron Kline. Juan Pizzaro had a long outstanding career in baseball. He pitched in both the 1957 and 1958 World Series with the Milwaukee Brewers. He had many fine years with the White Sox during the 1960's and was an All-Star in 1963 and 1964 (19-9 in 1964). He ended up getting his contract approved and was 9-0 with Hawaii in 1970 and went on to pitch for several more years in the big leagues with the Cubs (4 years), Astro's and Pirates. 1971 Boston Red Sox Minor League Letter. To National Association President Phillip Piton from Red Sox director of Minor Leagues Ed Kinney regarding contract of minor league (Williamsport) player Karl King. Very nice condition. Ex/Mt+ $25

1971 Syracuse Chiefs Letter. This letter accompanied Syracuse's $500 National Association membership fee. Syracuse was in the International League and was the Yankees top farm club in 1971. Very nice letterhead. Great condition. Ex/Mt $25

1972 Hawaii Islanders Letterhead. Superb 2 page letter from legendary baseball executive John Quinn Jr. to National Association President Hank Peters informing him about status of baseball's winter meetings to be held in Hawaii that fall. Superb condition. Ex/Mt+ $35

1973 Boston Red Sox Minor League Letter. To National Association President Phillip Piton from Red Sox director of Minor Leagues Ed Kinney regarding reinstatement of minor league (Winston-Salem) player Rick Kreuger who played for parts of 4 seasons with the Red Sox and Indians. Very nice condition. Ex/Mt+ $30

1973 Milwaukee Brewers Letter. This letter to National Association president Hank Peter accompanied 3 contracts being sent to the National Association for approval for players Jack Lind, Gary Chandler & Gary Cavallo. Ex/Mt $25

1973 Milwaukee Brewers Letter. This letter to National Association president Hank Peter accompanied 4 contracts being sent to the National Association for approval for players Larry Hanson, Duane Espy, Tom Bianco and Carl Austerman. Ex/Mt $25

1974 Salinas Packers Letter. Letter is to California League president (and Pacific Coast League Hall of Famer) Eddie Mulligan. Letter includes handwritten notes by Mulligan at the bottom. Mulligan played in the PCL from 1919-38 and played in the major leagues off and on from 1915-28. Very nice condition. Ex/Mt $35
