1870 Harper's Weekly Woodcut Engraving Print of a "Match" Between the Boston Red Stockings and the Brooklyn Atlantics. Richly detailed original 8"x18" panoramic print. Takes up top half of double center page spread. A fantastic game scene with detailed etchings of all the players on the field, at bat and on the bench. Shows thousands of people in attendance. Has amazing artistry in every detail. Classic uniforms and beanies. Has beautiful straight tapered bats laying in foreground. This was before baseball gloves of any kind nor catchers equipment was used. Has damage on both edges that could easily be matted out if framed. Amazing double page print includes great print of horse races at Jerome Park also with great detail. These woodcut engravings were produced until about 1890 when technology was developed for the inexpensive printing of halftones of photographs in periodicals. Very nicely detailed. These are the most detailed and accurate representation of the earliest baseball teams. Despite the flaws this is in amazing condition and will mat and frame beautifully. Ex+ $110

Richly detailed original 10x14 print. wonderful game scene with extra players laying on ground. Classic uniforms and beanies. Has beautiful straight tapered bats laying in foreground. This was before baseball gloves of any kind nor catchers equipment was used. A wonderful historic print. These woodcut engravings were produced until about 1890 when technology was developed for the inexpensive printing of halftones of photographs in periodicals. Very nicely detailed. These are the most detailed and accurate representation of the earliest baseball teams. Has very light discoloration in center of page. Very nice condition. Ex/Mt $95

1874 Harper's Weekly Woodcut Engraving Print of the Ontario Maple Leafs Baseball Club. Richly detailed original 7x10 print on an 11x16 page of the 1874 Guelph, Ontario Maple Leaf team, printed directly from the original woodcut method engraving plate in 1874. Fantastic bib front uniforms with ultra high top cleats, knee high argyle socks and beautiful straight tapered bats. This was before baseball gloves of any kind nor catchers equipment was used. These woodcut engravings were produced until about 1890 when technology was developed for the inexpensive printing of halftones of photographs in periodicals. Amazing detail. These are the most detailed and accurate representations of the earliest baseball teams. Outstanding condition. Ex/Mt+ $65

1883 Harper's Weekly Woodcut Engraving Print of the Boston Red Stockings Baseball Club. Richly detailed original 6 x 9 1/2 print on an 11x16 page of the 1883 Boston Red Stockings team, printed directly from the original woodcut method engraving plate in 1883. The Boston Red Stockings came into being in 1871 when the first professional league (National Association) began play. The previously professional Cincinnati Red Stockings decided to revert to amateur status so their 4 best players (led by Harry Wright) started the Boston franchise. In 1876 the National Association became the National League, in the late 1880's the team changed it's nick name to the "Beaneaters" then changed again to the "Braves" in about 1905. The 1883 team included John Burdock, John Morrill and their lone pitcher Jim Whitney who won 37 games. Boston won their 7th championship in 1883. These woodcut engravings were produced until about 1890 when technology was developed for the inexpensive printing of halftones of photographs in periodicals. These are the most detailed and accurate representations of the earliest baseball teams. Outstanding condition. Ex/Mt+ $65

1889 Harpers Weekly Woodcut Print of "A Collegiate Game of Baseball". 15x20. Double page original print. Center spine area was damaged causing about one inch loss of image at spine. Fair condition otherwise with edge wear. Nice period dress detail of ladies and gentlemen in stands. Game scene is intact. Fair $35

1893 Harpers Weekly "Pitcher's Delivering the Ball - From Instantaneous Photographs". 10 1/2 x 15 inch full page with 15 photos of 5 Ivy League pitchers showing their pitching motions including Harvard's Joeseph Wiggin, Cornell's Asa Priest. Princeton's Gaston Drake, Penn's George Reese and Yale's Walter Carter. Very nice condition. Ex/Mt+ $50

1895 Harpers Weekly "The Evolution of the Amateur Pitcher". Three page article (on 2 sheets) with 10 photos total showing new pitching motions with different pitches. 10 1/2 x 15 page size. Incredibly rare view of the evolution of 19th century baseball. Terrific condition. Ex/Mt+ $50

1910 Harvard Team Captains Photo. 4 photos of the football, baseball, track & field and rowing captains on an 8 x 10 1/2 calendar page. The Harvard football team were the 1910 national champions. Heavy paper stock with blank back. Excellent condition. Ex+ $30

1916 Collier's Magazine Baseball Cover. Beautiful illustration art cover of a catcher making a tag play at home. Measures 9 3/4" x 14 1/2". Has light water stains in corners, otherwise outstanding condition. Ex+ $40

1925 Grantland Rice "A Star Team With Book Learning" Article on College Educated Stars with Photos of 9 Stars & Hall of Famers. 10x13 inches. Hilarious by todays standards. Grantland Rice attempts to challenge the prevailing concept that baseball players were uneducated ruffians. Has photos of 9 players including 7 Hall of Famers. Awesome! Ex/Mt $40

1926 Williams College Baseball Pictorial. Great team photos of the Williams and Amherst college teams. Williams College took part in the first college baseball game ever on July 1st 1859 vs. Amherst. Also has individual photos of several key players plus an opening day action photo versus Columbia. There are two of these available, this is in slightly nicer condition, the other one is listed next. Has wear on the mailing folds, otherwise outstanding condition. Large 12" x 19" overall size. 1927 Williams College Baseball Pictorial. Great 6 page pictorial with Williams College baseball team photo, photos of the captain and coach, action photos versus Connecticut. Has team photos of the 1927 Williams track team plus 10 individual portrait and action photos of track & field athletes. Has a team photo of the Lacrosse team and has photos f the top 3 members of the tennis team. Has wear on the mailing folds, otherwise outstanding condition. Large 12" x 19" overall size. Ex+ $45

1930's Felt Baseball Jacket Logo. Incredible 9 1/2" tall felt baseball jacket figure. Thought to be from Franklin high school in Portland, Oregon. All the detailing on the felt figure is sewn in. Looks like pen and ink buts it's actually all sewn thread. Incredible detail and fantastic condition. Two layers of wool felt. A nice piece of baseball Americana.. Ex/Mt+ $45

1930's-40's Chicago White Sox Comiskey Park Postcard. 3 1/2" x 5 1/2". Has a few wrinkles but displays nicely. Great for autographs. Vg/Ex $20

1940's Art Deco Style Baseball Trophy. Nice wood trophy with nicely detailed figural. Trophy stands 15" high. Trophy is unused and was never engraved. The brass engraving plate is in excellent condition. The wood has storage wear. Overall excellent condition. Ex+ $65

1940's Cincinnati Reds Luggage Tag. From the estate of Jim Turner who pitched with the Reds from 1940-42 including the 1940 World Series, then coached with the Reds from 1961-65. The tag is well made with a leather strap and a nice buckle. The tag itself is about 2 inches across. It's cardboard with protective plastic on both sides. The use of the word "Base Ball" (two words) leads me to think this is from the early 1940's rather than the early 1960's. A great and unique item for a Reds collector. Flawless unused condition. 1955 Champions Baseball Trophy. Nice wood trophy with nicely detailed figural. Trophy stands 13 1/2 inches high. Has two brass engraving plates. One says "1955 Tournament Champions - Bud's Sports Shop". The other plate says "Donated by First Citizens National Bank".. The wood base is in terrific condition with a great decal on back. 1960 Chicago Cubs & White Sox Roster & Schedule. Measures 6 x 10 1/2 inches. Opens up to 10 1/2 x 12 inches. 8 pages. Has 1960 Cubs team photo and roster pages as well as 1960 White Sox team photo and roster pages. The back cover has some blue marks. 1975 Oregon Sportswriters Banquet of Champions Program Autographed by Johnny Bench. Folds open to 17x22. Bench was the guest speaker. 1975 Nominees include Steve Prefontaine, Peter Jacobsen, Mel Renfro, Geoff Petrie etc.. Program has lots of wrinkles and writing on back page. This awards banquet had been held annually since 1948. Very nice personalized Johnny Bench autograph. Bench added "To Patty, Love ya!". Vg $25

2001 Autographed New York Celebrity Softball Game Poster. Hollywood All-Stars versus New York All-Stars played in New York. Autographed by 7 celebs including Sean Astin, MacKenzie Astin, William Baldwin, Mark Consuelos, Artie Lange & Mark Derwin. Other celebs who are pictured are Norm MacDonald, Meatloaf, Michael Bergin, Kevin Eubanks, Fisher Stevens, Esai Morales etc.. Sean Astin signed just above his brothers photo. Has folds, wear and tape on 3 corners, very nice otherwise. Poster was printed on thick cardstock and measures 17x23 inches. $35

1938 Joe DiMaggio Wheaties Ad. Wheaties ad's are perhaps the most colorful and spectacular of all baseball ad's. This ad features "Joltin' Joe" taking a mighty cut. Also has 4 smaller photos including one of Joe crossing home plate after hitting a home run. Also Ellsworth Vines and Olympians Lenore Kight Wingard and Joanna de Tuscan. 1912 Ban Johnson & Thomas Lynch Prince Albert Tobacco Ad. Huge 21 x 14 inch double page ad of the American and National League presidents. Thomas (TJ) Lynch was a National League umpire that became the League president from 1910-13. Ban Johnson created the American League in 1902 and served as league president through the 1927 season. A 2 page ad that has been taped together. A very nice ad. Ex/Mt $50

1945 Goldsmith Baseball Uniforms Ad. A terrific 2 color Goldsmith uniform ad with team photos of 17 major and minor league teams. A 2 page 8x10 ad. The pages were taped together using acid free tape. Very nice condition. Ex/Mt+ $25

1945 Hank Borowy, Snuffy Stirnweiss, Nick Etten & Mike Garbark Farnsworth Radio & Television Ad. Superb full color 10x13 ad with photos of 4 New York Yankees players. Color TV had not been invented in 1945 so this was a futuristic ad. Great condition. Ex/Mt+ $30
