1. Jerry Koosman, Spalding 42-989. Probably the cream of any 1969 Mets glove collection because this glove is listed as very rare. Koosman won the game that clinched the World Championship for the Mets in 1969. This glove is in nice condition with smooth leather throughout. The only flaw of note is a very faded name on the front of the small finger. RHT Ex/Mt $55 2. Ed Charles, Franklin 1139. Ed had several fine seasons with the Kansas City A's and New York Mets during the 1960's. He played in the 1969 World Series. This full size, high quality glove is in superb condition with smooth lining. Has writing on the wrist strap, otherwise near mint. Import. RHT $50 3. Gil Hodges, Wilson A2774. Nice mid size mitt. Has smooth inside lining and very soft outer leather. The web has been relaced. Has a bold facsimile signature. The piping shows wear but is intact. No writing. RHT Ex/Mt $65 4. Cleon Jones, Spalding 42-9073. Cleon batted .340 for the Mets in 1969 and had a great post season. Jones gloves are listed as very rare. This is a mid size glove. The vinyl piping has cracked in several places. No writing. Import. RHT Ex $30 5. Nolan Ryan, Spalding 42-6115. Nice mid size plus glove. Has a bold facsimile signature. Has soft felt like inside lining. Has one blocked out name on the back. Import. Ex/Mt $35 6. Jim McAndrew, MacGregor MFM. A large high quality glove circa 1970. McAndrew played all but one year of his career with the Mets (1968-74). His gloves are listed as rare and he played on both Mets teams that went to the World Series (1969 & 73). In 1972 he was 11-8 with a 2.80 ERA. The glove has some light wear to the lining and piping but both are completely intact. The cloth label has a small hole. No writing. Import. RHT Ex+ $45 7. Donn Clendenon, Trio Hollander 1297 DCL. A nice quality mitt. Clendenon had several excellent seasons with the Pirates and Mets from 1961-72 including the World Champion 1969 Mets. The leather piping is worn in numerous places, mostly on the back side. Otherwise very nice condition. Has a nice facsimile signature and a nice cloth label. Clendenon mitts are very rare. Import. RHT Ex+ $45 8. Ed Kranepool, Rawlings TN50. A beautiful and very rare Ed Kranepool Trapper Style mitt circa 1965. Ed was a member of the original 1962 Mets, the 1969 Amazin' Mets and the 1973 National League champion Mets. Ed was 17 years old when he broke in with the Mets in 1962 and no one has come close to his 18 years as a player with the Mets. Superb condition. Kranepool mitts are listed as very rare. Flawless condition. LHT Nr/Mt $85 sold 9. Don Cardwell, Hutch 36. A mid size 1950's glove in very nice condition. Cardwell had an excellent season with the Mets in 1969. The glove has some lining wear but the glove feels great on the hand. Listed as rare. RHT Ex/Mt $50 sold 10. Tom Seaver, Golden Glove 1800. Great leather inside and out. Very smooth inside lining. Nice labeling. Has writing in the pocket. A rare brand. RHT Ex+ $25 11. Bud Harrelson, King 4915. Superb small to mid size glove. Buddy Harrelson gloves are very rare and this one is in great condition with no writing. Harrelson played shortstop with the Mets from 1965 to 1977. He played in 2 World Series and was a 2 time All-Star. Import. RHT Ex/Mt+ $50 sold 12. J.C. Martin Catchers Mitt, Spalding 42-793. Small to mid size. JC Martin played from 1959-72. Nine years with the White Sox, three years with the Cubs and was a member of the 1969 "Miracle Mets". Listed as very rare. No writing, Import. RHT Ex+ $35 sold 13. Ron Swoboda, Rawlings GJ89. Very rare. Ron Swoboda was an excellent Met who played outfield along side Tommie Agee and Cleon Jones in the 1969 World Series. Swoboda made one of the great catches in World Series history in game four. Smooth leather throughout. Some piping wear. Mid size. No writing. Import. RHT Ex+ $45 sold 15. Jerry Grote, Trio Hollander 34-59. Jerry Grote was a cult hero if ever there was one. He broke in with the Houston Colt 45's in 1963 then became the Mets catcher for 12 seasons. He played in the 1969 and 1973 World Series with the Mets then played in the 1977 and 1978 World Series with the Dodgers. He retired after the 1978 season but after much begging came back 3 years later and batted .300 and won another World Series ring with the Dodgers. Jerry Grote mitts are rare and this one is being featured in the collection of 1969 Mets gloves. This is a mid size mitt and shows very little use.
